Making this recording
has been a life-long dream. Like many performers, music touched my soul at a
very early age. If the music makes you laugh, cry, dance or tap your toes, Ive
accomplished my goal. Enjoy!
The title song, Beautiful Dancer, was written for my wife Linda
and premiered on our wedding day. The other songs are many of my favorites,
songs Ive been playing for years.
For me the main thing has always been and will always be, It dont
mean a thing if it aint got that swing! Dig the fabulous arrangements
by one of NYs unsung heroes, Richie Iacona.
Reviews
of Beautiful Dancer
"Gerard
Carelli is a spectacular talent and his new album is the kind that I would rush
to the store to buy."
Cy Coleman
"...the first combination trombonist-singer I've seen since Billy Eckstine
and he's a talent on both ends."
Jerome Wilson
Cadence Magazine
"He not only knows how to swing a vocal, he adds a sweet-and-low trombone
to the mix. Classy and classic."
Patricia Meyers, Jazz Times
"...some of the best known standards around. His playing has imagination
and style, with a good jazz feel."
Matt Dennis
